AWARDS
2019 AILA (SA) Public Choice Award
LCS delivered the redevelopment of Roy Marten Reserve in Taperoo for the City of Port Adelaide Enfield. Working with Outerspace Landscape Architects, the project created a park that brings play, recreation and community gathering together.
The playspace combines physical challenges with opportunities for sensory exploration through water and sand play. Open lawns, a basketball half-court and fitness facilities extend recreation beyond the playground. Sheltered picnic settings, barbecues and accessible toilets support longer visits, while separate dog parks accommodate large and small dogs.
Public art connects the reserve to its history and cultural significance. Sculptural works recall the site's former Broken Hill summer camps, while a mural by Aboriginal artist Tony Wilson reflects its importance to Kaurna people. These elements give the park a distinct local identity, connecting everyday recreation with stories of place.
