LCS were engaged by the client to re-establish the existing creek lines in the Southern Parklands. The project aimed to provide flood mitigation to residential areas downstream, controlling flows through construction of a flood containment mound.

Extensive earthworks were undertaken with the construction of new open stormwater channels, installation of culverts to connect the existing and new stormwater infrastructure. LCS constructed new asphalt shared pathways was required, as well as rehabilitation of the Park Lands Creek to support River Red Gum tree health and extensive landscaping. 2,000+ native tubestock and 40 trees native to the local area were planted with particular focus on vegetation of the open channel banks.

Performance could only be tested by heavy rainfall, the project team observed the site closely and were very satisfied with the results.
